The witch of Edmonton

Elisabeth Sawyer, Framed and executed for witchcraft.

She was accused of bewitching the neighbors, also her crooked and deformed body, her perpetual depression and supposedly a devil’s mark found on her body was enough to get her killed.

Harassed into confession, she told that the devil appeared to her in the form a black dog. She was hanged on April 19, 1621.
